简介：Dr. Steven Sorenson intends to harness the Earth's geothermal energy by deploying a thermonuclear device deep beneath the Earth's surface. Despite warnings from his colleague Ted Rampian, the scientist proceeds with the experiment after discovering his terminal illness in secret. The uncontrolled detonation triggers the formation and expansion of a fissure within the Earth's crust, creating a catastrophic risk of splitting the planet apart if left unaddressed.
